During lockdown Ambrin was commissioned by the 42nd Street mental health charity to create a digital work of art. She was challenged to explore how creativity and imagination can affect and benefit our mental wellbeing. The Pearl Grey teabag is a celebration of the humble tea break! This luxurious teabag symbolises the value in having a break and in taking moments to rest and pause.
"In order to create the Pearl Grey painting I reflected on my own artistic practice and on how some of my favourite parts of the creative process are my moments for pause. Where I can sit back with a cup of tea and bask in my crafting experience and take the time to reflect on what I am making. The painting draws comparisons between the value of the jewellery I create and the valuable moments I find throughout the making process itself" - Ambrin
We invite you to visit 'Corner Shop' which is a free online exhibition created by Ambrin during lockdown.
The exhibition features existing works explored in the context of lockdown. We look at how our relationships with objects and value have changed as a result of lockdown, as well as exploring wider themes and thoughts on quarantine life.
