Just a spoonful of austerity helps the medicine go down!
'Silver Spoon' responds to the financial crisis suffered by the NHS. In particular the work alludes to attitudes of austerity. More and more we hear of wealthy politicians selling off elements of our NHS. Do we fear privatisation taking over?
Taking reference from the saying "to be born with a silver spoon in one's mouth" the work begs the question, have privileged politicians made appropriate decisions on behalf of working people, and our NHS? 'Silver Spoon' pits wealth against health, and points out that politicians are making these decisions from a point of privelege.
